An Old Family Tradition - Part 2

Ever onward and possibly upward, I bring you Part 2 of my version of fuzzy_spork's Trailer Park Challenge.  (It's been a blast to play so far, and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something quick and fun to play).

Look!  I made a cover!

Part 1 left off with an impromptu mini-bachelor challenge between Rose Dai, the redhead, and Demi Love, the officer with the blonde braids, which Rose handily won with some rather wanton behavior.

Rose moved in with $7,000 in funds which, per the rules, bought a bright shiny red pick-up truck and driveway to place it on.  The leftover funds went toward sprucing up the house a bit and buying some much needed furniture and other things such as lights and a second bathroom.  There was even enough for a small garden plot so they could start growing their own food and have something additional to sell at the garage sale.  If it gets planted and harvested in time.

The truck was immediately put to good use *cough romance sim cough*.

Man!  That was quick!  Nah, just kidding.  They had a baby chime their first night in the bedroom.  It was funny though.  The pregnancy went by okay.  Rose was a pretty good pregnant sim.  No passing out, no starving to death.  She mostly did a lot of lying around on the couch and making friends with the different male sims who passed by on any given day.  (This is important.  You'll see later.)

Billy Bob continued to go to work as a golf caddy and Rose continued to acost make friends with various passerbys, of which I have no pictures, and lay on the futon.  At this point, baby bump showing and a day off coming, it was time for a wedding.  SHOTGUN!  Uhm, except I hadn't gotten them engaged yet.

Please note the red ring above Ms. Dai's head.  She is not pleased.  Must be crimping her style.  Anyhoo, Billy Bob, happily oblivious to his fiance's feelings on the matter, phones up all the people he knows, good friends and not, and invites them over to partake in the traditional red solo cup celebration of his nuptials.  There's a wedding to be had.

First one to belly up to the bar keg?  Rose, of course.  Uhm, honey, you realize that's not the best thing for the baby, right?  I swear that as I was moving the mouse to cancel out the action she pulled this face and I almost heard her say,  You gonna stop me?  If anyone needs a drink right now, I need a drink right now!   I've never been afraid of a pixel character.  Rose just scared the beejeezus out of me.

She then proceeded to forgo the red solo cup and drink directly from the tap.  *shudder of fear*

The rest of the party went off without a hitch, well except the hitching everyone was there to witness, and ended as a roof raiser, complete with an empty keg that could now be deleted - per the rules, and a second baby bump.

Life went on.  Billy Bob went to work, Rose laid around, ate and slept.  Finally the day came for the arrival of the first member of generation one.  The birth was as easy as the pregnancy had been, and pretty soon, Billy Bob and Rose welcomed Billy Joe to their family.

With the baby here and Rose's needs much more manageable Billy Bob spent some time digging for treasures to sell at the annual garage sale which would be here before you know it.  Rose was finally able to fertilize and plant their small garden plot.

Billy Bob also took his first trip to Wally World to buy groceries.  His purchase went quite smoothly, but other Wally World customers bogarted the treadmills and were extremely frustrated that they couldn't use them.  Duh!  You have to buy them first.

Things still continued on.  Billy Bob started taking the truck to work, Rose stayed at home with the baby and her friends .  Billy Joe had a birthday that took forever without the cake.

Billy Joe is an adorable Taurus 9/4/9/10/3.  Warning: cute pic spam ahead...

Billy Bob taught him all of his skills, but I only remembered to take the walking picture.

Rose started hurling again, and got quite a surprise one morning as she got out of bed.

Yes Rose, that tends to happen when you woohoo with several different sims.  This was the start of when things started to go to H - E - Double Hockey Sticks.  The pregnancy was a fairly easy one and Billy Bob didn't think anything about his wife putting on some additional weight.  One day, in celebration of his promotion to Convenience Store Clerk, he brought home Brandon Lillard from work.  I think Brandon had ulterior motives, but he offered to set Billy Bob up on a blind date with Suzanne Wren.  Since Rose was sleeping and Billy Bob needed some aspiration points, I clicked the option to accept the date.  Hey!  Don't judge!  This is the Trailer Park Challenge.

Billy Bob has two bolts with Suzanne too and they're already at friend status.  One of his turn ons is grey hair, which helps I think.  The date started, Brandon went around back to play with Sheba, and WAIT!!!  SCREW THE DATE!  WEBSTER IS ON THE LOT!  Webster is the other dog I want them to adopt.  We haven't seen him in a while.  So, Billy Bob ignores Suzanne and starts to make friends with Webster.

You can see that right around this time Rose wakes up.  Is she upset that her husband is on a date?  Not so much.  He's playing with a dog.  Not really anything to worry about.  Her first move?  Head outside and flirt with Brandon, with whom she has three bolts.  *face palm*

Webster leaves the lot, close to adopt status, but not quite there yet and Billy Bob ends the date with Suzanne.  All of a sudden he realizes that his wife is doing things with his new bestie that they shouldn't be doing.  (I have no idea how her clothes changed.  I wasn't really paying attention, I was trying to build friendship points between Billy Bob and Webster, so ignore the inconsistency of Rose's outfit.)  He is not amused.

He is also conflicted.  "Wow, my wife is HOT when she is cheating on me!"

So now I have two adults at flamey thought status, an adorable toddler and a baby on the way with and unknown father.  Finally, the birth.  Billy Bob, inexplicably woken by his wife's screams of pain, "Hmmm, I think I'll make the bed."

Welcome little Bobby Sue.  She has her mother's skin, her father's blonde hair, and...oh, this is not going to go well.

"Wait, we haven't done the woohoo since before Billy Joe was born.  I ain't got no blue eyes, neither does Rose.  What the hey-diddle is going on here?!"

The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back had been laid.  It was over.  No matter how Rose pleaded and begged, Billy Bob would not listen.  It was over.  Bathrooms are great places for breakups, don't you agree?

Billy Joe took it bad.  He sensed the disturbance in his sleep.

Billy Bob comforted him as best he could.  In the other bathroom.

Time was running out for Billy Bob.  He was nearly an elder and had only had two of the four required pregnancies.  What to do, what to do?  Why, call up Demi Love of course.  You didn't see that coming, did ya?

Demi moved in with $6,000 in funds.  She is an 8/0/8/4/5 Sagittarius Knowledge sim with the LTW to become a Mad Scientist.  She has a ton of skills, some already maxed out, no badges and no job.  Not sure what the police uniform is all about.  She rolled romance as a secondary.

A second pick-up truck and a driveway extension were added to their humble abode.  You can see the tailgate of the new white pick-up in this picture.  I couldn't place a second driveway as the rules suggest, so I put in the extension.  It costs double what a driveway does, so I figured it was a fitting substitute.  I also have an invisible driveway recolor, so they don't show, but believe me, they're there.

This seems as good a place as any to leave the story.  Tune in next time for proposals, weddings, garage sales and birthdays!

Thanks for reading!

Hi, tatdatcm! Glad you were able to get the post working -- it was up very briefly this afternoon, wasn't it?

This is the most soap-opera-ish TPC yet, I think -- all that simultaneous dating and boltage and cheating...! Of course, that's how it should be! ;)

Keep up the good work! :D

EDIT for spelling. It's one of those days. :(

It was up briefly this afternoon, but I couldn't get all the pictures to post properly. Livejournal was giving me fits of epic proportion. I was ready to give up and tried one last time and it worked.

I'm loving the soap opera. I couldn't believe Billy Bob go so upset when he caught Rose. I really don't think she and Brandon did anything more than flirt. It's been fun so far though. :)

Very funny...I never have my sims actually break up, so this was kind of funny. I really should add some drama, shouldn't I?
Great job!

This is only the second couple I've ever had break up. I had another go through some...problems in my Imprismed legacy, but eventually it worked itself out.

Thank you!

Annie, first this is awesome! Second, I just double checked the rules to be clear, when she said driveway segment I think she meant the driveway and the extensions. So I think you're cool, but also if you ever just want to use the moveobjects cheat and put them in the yard, that's acceptable too. :D

Ahhh Romance sims. If you're playing with ACR, Pleasure sims have a lower jealousy tolerance than Romancers, so that might be why she didn't care but he did. (or maybe Bobby didn't do anything stupid. ;) )

As for Demi, unless you have a hack or something all NPC's loose their jobs when they move in.

Thank you!

Yeah, I checked the rules too but it seemed a little unclear to me. I figured I'm okay with the way I did it. The problem is that my lot is close to the corner and all the open area is on the side street, so even when I use moveobjects I can't turn it sideways to go along the other street.

I do play with ACR and I actually love it for the interesting outcomes that the autonomy gives me. :) I recently installed Inteen too, and there are a few "flavor packs" that I'm waiting to see evidence of. :D

I forgot that NPC's lose their jobs when they move in.

Yeah, but when you use moveobjects you can just place the truck anywhere it doesn't have to be on a driveway piece at all. :D

Yeah I put in a few flavor packs myself. Although none of them will show up in the TPC because they require things that are illegal in the challenge. Oh well. :D

Oh, I like the surprise twist!
Poor Billy joe. I Billy Bob hope treats Bobby Sue well despite her unknown parentage. It's not her fault her Momma slept around.
